31 May Friends of Hope Host Fundraising Happy Hour
Earlier this month, the Friends of Hope Committee, formerly known as the Young Professionals, hosted a happy hour at Mac’s Tavern in Old City to benefit Hope Partnership. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of Hope, connect with new, like-minded individuals and raise funds for our organization. For the low price of $10 at the door, guests received food and drink specials and had the chance to try their luck on fantastic raffles including a weekend at the shore, Phillies tickets and a chance to be an extra on the television sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia!
The event was a success to say the least. Throughout the night, more than 60 guests joined the happy hour, including a couple of It’s Always Sunny fans hanging out in the bar. The committee set a fundraising goal of $1,000 for the event. By the end of the night, more than $1300 were raised, and more than a few names were received to join our various committees. We cannot thank our Friends of Hope Committee and all of our attendees enough for a triumphant event! Stay tuned for more information on the next happy hour!

Friends of Hope is a committee of young professionals in the Greater Philadelphia area that has come together to support Hope Partnership for Education in breaking the cycle of poverty through education. Our committee holds regular meetings and supports three to four organizational events per year. Comprised of 2-3 sub-committees, Friends of Hope offers variety in how you share your time and at what level. This committee is a great way to network with other socially-aware professionals, strengthen your resume volunteering with an organization that values what each individual can give, and most importantly, get involved in building a stronger Philadelphia community.
